Card of the day 5/17/10

Sorry I got behind on "the card of the day"! Where are these "dog days of summer" at? I seem to be busier than ever, which is really a good thing. :)
I used our "Kim" stamp set again, along with "Sing", but used only two colors; black and VersaMagic Sea Breeze.
Some pretty black and white paper flowers and ribbon knots complete the look.

Design team member Cheryl Kelly-Van Domelen has a two page feature in the newest Take Ten publication from Stampington & Co.
Your projects look great Cheryl... Congratulations!

Card of the day 5/24/10

Today's card was made using our "Kim" stamp set and those cute little Dew Drop ink pads with the chalk ink "VersaMagic". With those pads it is easy to get into the nooks and crannies. The saying set is "Hugs and Prayers".

Card of the day 5/20/10

You don't normally think of these bright colors when you think of Cherry Blossoms, but why not?! I had been working with these colors all week and grabbed our FOTM (Flower Of The Month) set Cherry Blossoms and here is what I came up with. It is fun to think out of the box isn't it?

Workshop project - Father's Day card

I thought I would share with you a card we are going to make Saturday at our stamping workshop... a great Father's Day card.
We are adding lot's of embellishments and lumpy stuff... how fun! We still have room at the workshop if you want to come. Just email or call me for more info.

Card of the day 5/19/10

Same colors as yesterday but different stamp. I love working with a color palette for awhile and work within it.

Card of the day 5/18/10

Here is today's card of the day! Both today's and yesterdays cards were stamped using Flower of the month images (Sunflower and Cabbage Rose) and colored in using Copic markers.

Card of the day 5/17/10

Sorry I am behind on posting my card of the day. It is the last week of school for us here and there is a lot going on every day and I also am getting ready for our workshop on Saturday. (let me know if you want to come!)

Here is Monday's card and I am going to post today's card in just a few. Thanks for your patience!

Card of the day 5/13/10

Same thing as yesterday... only different! I did a four square design and same colors, stamps, and embellishments.
Of course a matching envie!

Card of the day 5/12/10

Today's card I used the same stamps/supplies and technique as yesterdays but changed up the colors a bit and cut up the image and matted it on black. That is a fun way to give interest to an image.
Gotta stamp up a matching envie!

I used my Copic markers to accent the white embossed flowers and leaves. Copics stick to just about anything so this is a fun use for them.

Scramp Camp review

Angela from the Atlanta Scrapbook Examiner contacted me about doing a review/article on our Scramp Camp even coming up in Sept. I was so excited for the opportunity to have her share what a great time we have! Here is the link to the finished article http://www.examiner.com/x-47953-Atlanta-Scrapbooking-Examiner If you attended last years Scramp Camp your "mug" and other parts of ya... might be in the article!

Thank you Angela and Atlanta Scrapbook Examiner!

Card of the day 5/11/10

I am still playing around with heat embossing and my white embossing powder. This one I heat embossed the FOTM Forget Me Nots using Versamark ink and white embossing powder, and over that I used a foam applicator to rub ink over that. So great cardstock, pattern papers (GCD Studio's) satin ribbon and rhinestones finish off the card.
Don't forget to ink up and stamp your envelope.

Wooden block project by Mimi

Great use for old wooden blocks! My stamping friend Mimi sent me this great project she made using wooden blocks she had leftover after unmounting her wood mounted stamps. Great idea Mimi!

She covered the blocks with pattern paper and then used her Cricut to cut out lettering she adhered over the pattern paper. You could just as easily stamp the lettering if you have alphabet stamps.

Card of the day 5/6/10

Today's card of the day utilized the heat embossing technique. I have not done that in forever! It is one of the first things I learned how to do when I started stamping about 13 years ago and doing it again today reminded me how much fun it is, and what a beautiful effect it gives to your projects.

The flower is FOTM "Dogwood" stamp set and that is what I heat embossed in white powder, then I went back and daubed on white ink. The saying is from the set "Mother's" which is perfect for Mother's Day or any other day your want to celebrate your Mama.
Here is the inside stamped with the saying "Happy Mother's Day".

And don't forget to stamp up a matching envelope!

Another Girlie Bird card using the scalloped Nestability die and colored using chalks. So simple... yet so cute!

Card of the day 5/4/10

Today's card of the day holds a fun little gift... earrings! This is an easel card that is longer in the front than in the back so that the weight of the earrings won't topple it over. I used the Happy Birthday Cupcake set (image and saying) for this design and colored the image in using Copic markers.
The earrings slip through holes in the cardstock and the easel folds flat.

These are some little earrings that I made the other day.
Wouldn't it be fun to set this up on a co-workers desk for their birthday? I know I would love it.

5/3/10 Card of the day

Today's card of the day was made with the SOTM Sundae image again, and this time I made a Flip Flap card. These are fun to make....
and have lot's of space to stamp sentiments and write messages.
