Today's Perky Penguins Sneek Peak

Oh my gosh!... how cute is this penguin? I "think" this might be my favorite set in this collection. This little penguin in his furry little hat standing next to his mini snowman friend... what could be better? That image is just begging to be on the front of a card. And I love all the extra images that are included in the set including the snowball which could be used for all sorts of fun things, maybe stack a bunch of the snowballs next to the penguins who could be getting ready for a snowball fight.

This set measures approx. 5.5x4.25 and is from artist Brooke Smith. I can't wait to stamp with it! (I know I say that a lot, but I really can't!!!!)

FaLaLa Angels, Sneek Peak!

As promised here is a Sneek Peak stamp set that will soon be available from artist Brooke Smith. I love these sweet singing angels and the notes that go along with them. Brooke's style is so perfect for card making and I can just see the angels wings all "blinged out" with glitter and shimmer. Oh!... how about using these angels with the Welcome Baby Jesus set that Brooke also did for us?

This set should be available in a couple weeks, and I will let you all know as soon as it comes in. This will be another READY SET STAMP set that comes already trimmed out for you on EZ Mount cling cushion. You just take these out of the package, plop them on an acrylic block and you are ready to stamp!

Trunk Show near you!

I am so excited to tell you about a couple Truck Shows and workshop that we have coming up this month!

The first one is at The Scrap Shack in Augusta GA Saturday October 18th 10:00-12:00. Mimi is going to be teaching a Fall/Halloween themed class where you will make 3 really fun projects. While the class is going on I will be there with my TSS stamps that will be available for purchase. I will bring as many as I can carry in my trunk! Call The Scrap Shack for more information and to sign up for the class (706) 922-5171. Even if you do not take the class you can come and shop for TSS stamps.

The second trunk show and class is going to be at The Paper Rabbit in Greenwood SC, Tuesday night October 21st from 6:30-8:30. I will be teaching a class of 3 Fun Fall projects that are super cute and you are really going to want to make! I can email you photo's of these projects if you are interested in taking the class. Call The Paper Rabbit for more information and to sign up for the class (864) 223-6969. Like the other trunk shows, you do not have to take the class to come and shop for your favorite TSS stamps with no shipping charges! It is also great to touch and feel, and see the sizes of the stamps in person before purchasing, don't you think?

For those who are in my little area, Lincolnton GA (40 minutes above Augusta GA) we have a free monthly workshop held at The Stamping Studio. Person of the Month

We are now taking sign ups for our Person Of The Month program. This is really fun where you get to be Queen for the month and have people send you cards for your month. Brooke Smith Project in Cardmaker Magazine

Did you know that one of our wonderful rubber stamp artists works as a technical director over at CardMaker magazine? Brooke Smith is a multi-talented woman and has a project in the current issue of the magazine using some of the stamps that she designed for us... the Welcome Baby Jesus stamp set item #BS001. I love this set and baby Jesus is just the cutest!

Congratulations Brooke! Brooke has also designed 3 new Christmas themed stamp sets for us and I will give you a Sneek Peak of one of those stamp sets tomorrow here at the blog. They should be here in a few weeks.

Turkey Shelf Sitter

Hi Stampers and Scrappers,

Here is a Shelf Sitter that I just made using that cute turkey from our new Autumn Icons set. It is a real simple design that is made from a piece of 4-6 piece of white chipboard with an easel attached to the back so that it can stand on it's own. The easel is white cardstock that is cut 3.5x11" and is scored on one side 4" and from the other side 1",2",3". You will according fold the 1 inchers, and then fold in half and glue to closed then glue to the back of your chipboard.

The front is 1" strips of BasicGrey Offbeat pattern paper glued to the front. On white cardstock I stamped the Autumn Rounder and then the turkey inside that. I used my Nestabilities to cut out the scalloped oval shape. I colored the turkey using ink pads and blending pens and added a touch of glitter here an there. Add the sentiment "sending happy little thoughts to happy up your day!" to the bottom strip then knot a ribbon above that. The final embellishments are stacked buttons with waxed linen with the ends curled.

Here is another paper pumpkin I made last night and I copied Wendy Sebesta's pumpkin with the stacked buttons. Too cute!

Paper Pumpkin Tutorial

Here is a quick and fun project for you to try today, or tomorrow, or whenever you have about 20 minutes or so - Paper Pumpkins. Aren't these the cutest? I am going to make these for the twins teachers to decorate their desks at school. Who wouldn't want one of these? And I was thinking that wouldn't they be fun to make in non-traditional pumpkin/fall colors?... maybe match your decor. Mine would have to be blues, greens, and browns. I think I need to go make another one!

I used our Funky Foliage stamp set for this project item #TSS022 (uncut) or #TSS022RSS (already trimmed out). This set is also on sale for HALF PRICE this month! This is one of my all time favorite sets that stamps out so wonderfully crisp and clean, and I love the two step stamping and how the layering looks. This is a great time to get some wonderful fall stamps on SALE! You can find the sale stamps either in the "4 Sale-Close Outs" section, or the "Rubber Stamps Flowers and Foliage" section.

Here is how to make these;

You will need 9 strips of pattern paper cut 6x1". I am using BasicGrey Offbeat collection on my sample. I used 3 different patterns for a fun funky pumpkin.

I wanted to have a pattern inside my pumpkin, not just the outside so I am going to stamp it! I lined up my strips upside down and in the order I wanted for my pattern. I then used one of the leaves for my pattern, stamping the solid image using Adirondack Terra Cotta ink, and then the lined image over that using Adirondack Espresso ink.Stack up your strips and use a paper piercer to poke a hole on each end. Place a brad in one end.Fan all of the strips out like so.

Then one by one, place your strips on the brad over lapping.Here is how it looks half way through.When all the strips are on the brad flatten out the ends of the brad. And there is the basic paper pumpkin!
Don't you think our pumpkin needs some leaves? I stamped the same leaf onto white cardstock 3 times and trimmed out. I could not resist adding a little sparkle, so I used my glue pen and glitter on the leaves.

I used glue dots to attach the leaves and also some waxed linen for some spirals/vines... these I wond around the top brad to secure. These are really fun!
