Pop-Out Cards & Stamp Club

Hi Stamping Friends,

I carved out some time this weekend to stamp. Yea! It seems like I have precious little time this summer to do that and it really makes me feel good when I do.

I have some fun samples to show that I worked on for you view below, and I also want to invite you to the Studio in a couple weeks for our monthly Stamp Club workshop. We are going to be making these "stinking cute" cards at the workshop so I hope you can make it. The workshop for July is Saturday July 26th from 11:00 until about 2:00 and we even serve you lunch. These first samples are a single Pop-Out card and then the last sample is a Double Pop-Out card. These are very easy to make and are very impressive to receive.


The above Christmas card on the front reads "...the three wisemen come afar, led by the light from bright star... then the right front corner reads "...on the way to Bethlehem... This set is by Brooke Smith and is item #BS006 Three Wisemen. The card features gold sparkly crowns and how cute is that camel behind the wisemen?

This card features that cute owl drawn by Brooke again, and the inside reads "Owl are you?" You can see on the close-up shot the new white opaque pen that we now carry in the store. The white color really show ups!
This is my favorite card made with a stamp set by "Husband"! That husband of mine is a man of many talents... not only is he a wonderful business man, but he also built my website and also has this funny stamp set on his resume. The set is called Pet Peeves if you want to check it out. Last year I created a stamp set #RSSMB10 "You Know..." that is the perfect compliment to Husbands Pet Peeves, which also happen to look like aliens to me.

The sayings read.... You know you are getting older when... You are abducted by aliens... but immediately returned in favor of a living specimen. Dont'cha love that?!!

Need new blocks?

I think people are funny... me included. Some of us love to be neat and tidy, and some of us like a little clutter in our lives. This, of course, transcends to our crafting and crafting/studio rooms and spaces.

I have stamping friends that clean their stamping blocks after each stamping session, and then I have friends that are more like me... and just leave them sitting on the table until you go to use them again. There are times when I wish I were more clean and organized, but there is something to say for feeling free enough to just walk away from my craft table not worrying about my supplies and if they are clean or not.

My point?... well I really don't have a point but think that God made us each a little different and there is not right or wrong way to do things. That is what I like about stamping and paper crafting, there is no right or wrong way to do things, and I learn new ways to do techniques each time we have a workshop or stamping session with friends. My customers and stamping friends inspire me to do things a different way and try new things. I love that!

What made me think of this was a new shipment of blocks that just came in with these great round stamp blocks with finger grips, white grid lines and are 1/2" think and have been laser polished. My stamp blocks are looking a little shabby lately (no doubt because I should clean them more!) and think that stamping with these new blocks would be heavenly. Do you need new blocks too? Then check these out... they are top of the line at a great price too!

On a funny note... not too long ago my stamps were not clinging to my blocks the way they should have been and I just could not figure out how come. I tried cleaning off the back of the cling cushion, and wetting the block a little bit to get more friction. None of that helped and then it hit me.... all my blocks needed a good cleaning. Duh! (In my defense, my blocks get a lot of use at workshops and shows) So I whipped out my blending solution that is meant use with the Tim Holtz alcohol inks, and cleaned all my blocks and now my stamps cling wonderfully. That is my tip for you, if your blocks get a bit dirty.... just clean them with that blending solution and a cloth. It even gets off dried on StazOn ink which can be a real challenge.

DIY Monogram Kits

Just in.... DIY Monogram kits to use with your JustRite stamper or by themselves. They come with a wood mount in each kit, so you do not have to purchase the JustRite stamper, but have the option to use the the stamper if you would like. Don't you love options?! These new fonts are so cute!

Stamp Club this Saturday!

Hey Y'all,

Are you excited about Stamp Club this month? Me too... it seems so long since we have met together so I am really looking forward to it. We are going to make 3 cute projects and here is a pre-view.

Stamp Club member Pat requested that we recreate this cute tri-fold bird card that you may have seen featured on the slide show on this blog. I changed the colors up a bit and used a different collection of BasicGrey pattern paper to make it new and exciting. Take a look;

The birds are created from pattern paper circles that are cut in half and feature goggle eyes. Don't you just LOVE goggle eyes?!

Another project we are going to make is a gift bag from a plain old lunch sack and pattern cardstock. It is an easy project but very useful. We are also going to make a card that matches the gift bag, as you always need a card to go with the gift. We are going to be using our new tea set "What's Brewin" for these two projects and I am in love with this new set.
